YO! I am thrilled to present my 2023 promo mix. I haven't released many individual tunes over the past couple years while I've focused on writing, exploring, and defining my sound a little better. This mix is the culmination of a lot of work with new gear, new techniques, and new perspectives. I think it's also the start of what is coming next for the Android Dreaming project.

When releasing music today, there's such a fixation on growing Spotify streams, writing tracks to appease algorithms ("that track is too long bro, Spotify wants 2 minute tunes"), and releasing tracks with a specific cadence to boost your streaming numbers. There's a lot of value there if you want to grow an audience and maybe I'm naive, but there's something I really love about artists who stay pretty silent for the year and then drop a large body of new work. The promo mix format always reminds me of discovering early promo mixes from some of my favorite artists, and I think presenting new material in the context of a DJ mix helps to craft a narrative through the music. Additionally, I love that I can include a bunch of bootlegs and other samples I could never clear for distribution.

All that said. . . I'm really stoked on some of these tunes and I do think some of them will get a proper release. Leave a comment or shoot me a message if you hear something you like :) Thanks so much for listening, and I hope some of these songs resonate with you!
